Amid balancing school work with interning, personal and family relationships, various hobbies, staying healthy, and finding free time to relax, things surely stay busy. However, one thing I try to never neglect is maintaining a well-informed awareness of current issues, on a global level as well as on varying local levels. As a Gen-Y member, I am no stranger to Google and can sometimes find myself lost for hours digging into the depths of cyberspace uncovering information on whatever topic is of particular interest that day. Whether it's reading up on high-speed rail being shot-down in Florida or how to build a DIY loop pedal for my electronic drumkit, it's easy for me to get lost delving deeper and deeper into the pages I find.
I initially had the thought to start a blog a couple of weeks ago. While looking into the issues surrounding a few local matters, I thought that writing about my findings would be an excellent way to both formalize my thoughts as well as document all the links and sources I found along the way. Recently, I have become more informed and interested in local matters in Atlanta, metro-Atlanta, and Georgia. This meant that I could focus my writings to a slightly more specific scope than just whatever was on my mind that week.
So here I am, attempting to structure my thoughts on various issues and to present it to all those interested in an efficient and meaningful manner. Sometimes I'll try and be neutral; sometimes I'll clearly present a bias after considering all sides. Please, leave feedback and share your thoughts. Just remember, though, at the end of the day this is just one Atlantan's opinion.
Note: If you read the title and associated it with Jay-Z and not Billy Joel, please exit quietly out the back.
